Renin

This test is done to measure renin, a hormone-like enzyme released by the kidneys that plays a key role in controlling blood pressure and fluid balance. It helps regulate sodium retention and vascular tone through the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system. Abnormal levels may indicate kidney-related hypertension, adrenal disorders, or fluid and electrolyte imbalances.
