Pancreatic Elastase (Faeces)

This test is done to measure elastase, an enzyme produced by the pancreas that helps digest food. Because it remains stable during intestinal transit, it is a reliable marker of pancreatic exocrine function. Low levels may indicate pancreatic insufficiency, where the pancreas does not produce enough digestive enzymes.
