DHEA Sulfate (DHEA-S)

This test is done to measure DHEA-S, a hormone produced mainly by the adrenal glands that serves as a precursor for male and female sex hormones. It helps evaluate adrenal gland function and identify hormonal imbalances. Abnormal levels may be associated with conditions such as adrenal tumors, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, or polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
