The culture also provides antibiotic sensitivity results to ensure effective targeted treatment.
- If there is red, painful, or watery eyes.
- If there is purulent eye discharge.
- If eye infection is persistent or recurrent.
- If a healthcare provider suspects bacterial or fungal eye infection.
- Fasting: Not required.
- Avoid using antibiotic eye drops before sampling if instructed.
- Do not wash the eye immediately before sample collection unless advised.
