This test measures angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) in the blood. Elevated levels may be associated with sarcoidosis and certain other inflammatory or granulomatous disorders.

  • If sarcoidosis is suspected.
  • During evaluation of unexplained granulomatous disease.
  • When persistent respiratory symptoms or lymph node enlargement occur.
  • During monitoring of sarcoidosis activity.
  • As part of inflammatory disease investigations.
  • No fasting is usually required unless instructed otherwise.
  • A blood sample will be collected from a vein.
  • Inform the healthcare provider about medications being taken.
  • Results should be interpreted alongside clinical findings and imaging studies.
