Abnormal levels may result from poor dietary intake, malabsorption, chronic illness, or excessive supplementation and can affect immune function, skin health, and metabolism.
- If there are signs of zinc deficiency (poor wound healing, hair loss).
- If immune dysfunction or recurrent infections are present.
- If malnutrition or malabsorption is suspected.
- If a healthcare provider is monitoring mineral status or supplementation.
