This test is done to measure alpha-tocopherol, the main form of vitamin E in the blood. Vitamin E is a fat-soluble antioxidant that protects cells from oxidative damage and supports immune, nerve, and muscle function. Abnormal levels may indicate malabsorption, liver disease, or excessive supplementation.

  • If vitamin E deficiency is suspected.
