RPR (Rapid Plasma Reagin) is a non-treponemal test used for screening and monitoring disease activity, while treponemal serology detects specific antibodies against Treponema pallidum, the bacteria that causes syphilis. Together, they help diagnose active or past infection and assess treatment response.
