This test measures the level of Plasminogen Activator Inhibitor-1 (PAI-1), a protein involved in regulating blood clot breakdown. It may help assess abnormal clotting tendencies, thrombosis risk, and disorders affecting the body’s fibrinolytic system.

  • If there is a history of unexplained blood clots.
  • When evaluating thrombosis or clotting disorders.
  • During investigation of abnormal fibrinolytic activity.
  • If recurrent pregnancy loss related to clotting is suspected.
  • As recommended by a hematology specialist.
  • Fasting for 10–12 hours is required before sample collection.
  • Water is allowed during the fasting period.
