This test measures plasma metanephrine and normetanephrine, metabolites of catecholamines. It helps diagnose pheochromocytoma, paraganglioma, and adrenal tumors associated with excess catecholamine production.

  • If pheochromocytoma is suspected.
  • During evaluation of unexplained high blood pressure.
  • When episodes of headaches, palpitations, or sweating occur.
  • During investigation of adrenal or neuroendocrine tumors.
  • As recommended during endocrine assessment.
  • Fasting and resting before sample collection may be required.
