This test uses electrophoresis to separate serum lipoproteins (chylomicrons, VLDL, LDL, HDL). It helps evaluate abnormal lipid metabolism, familial dyslipidemias, and cardiovascular disease risk assessment.

  • If abnormal cholesterol or triglyceride levels are detected.
  • During evaluation of familial lipid disorders.
