Hematocrit (Hct / PCV)
This test is done to evaluate the proportion of red blood cells in blood. Low hematocrit may indicate anemia or blood loss, while high levels may be associated with dehydration or conditions causing increased red cell production.
- If symptoms like fatigue, weakness, or dizziness are present.
- If anemia or blood disorders are suspected.
- If evaluating dehydration or fluid imbalance.
- If part of routine health checkup (CBC).
