This test is done to detect the presence of Hepatitis B virus (HBV) DNA in the blood using PCR technology. It helps confirm an active infection and measure how much virus is present in the body. It is also used to monitor disease progression and response to antiviral treatment.

  • If there are signs or symptoms of liver infection or liver disease.
  • To monitor known chronic Hepatitis B infection.
