This test measures anti-La (SSB) autoantibodies associated with autoimmune connective tissue diseases. It is commonly used in the evaluation of Sjögren syndrome and systemic lupus erythematosus.

  • If Sjögren syndrome is suspected.
  • During evaluation of dry eyes or dry mouth.
  • When autoimmune connective tissue disease is being investigated.
  • If ANA or autoimmune markers are positive.
  • As part of rheumatology assessment.
  • No fasting is usually required.
  • A blood sample will be collected from a vein.
  • Inform the healthcare provider about autoimmune symptoms or medications.
  • Share previous autoimmune or ANA test results if available.
  • Follow all laboratory instructions before sample collection.
