ANCA Profile (MPO, PR3, cathepsin, elastase, lactoferrin, BPI antibodies)
This test is done to detect and characterize a broad panel of anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA). It includes MPO and PR3, which are strongly linked to systemic vasculitis, as well as additional neutrophil-associated antibodies (cathepsin G, elastase, lactoferrin, and bactericidal permeability-increasing protein). These markers help evaluate and differentiate autoimmune inflammatory diseases affecting small blood vessels and multiple organs.
- If there are symptoms of systemic vasculitis such as fever, fatigue, or weight loss.
- If there is kidney involvement (blood or protein in urine).
- If there are respiratory symptoms such as chronic cough or shortness of breath.
- If a healthcare provider is evaluating complex autoimmune or inflammatory disease.
