ANCA (Anti-Neutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibodies)

Accredited Facility E-report Qualified Specialists

This test is done to detect ANCA, a group of autoantibodies that target components of neutrophils. Their presence is strongly associated with autoimmune vasculitis, conditions that cause inflammation of small blood vessels. It helps support diagnosis of diseases such as granulomatosis with polyangiitis and microscopic polyangiitis, and may assist in disease monitoring.

  • If there are symptoms of systemic inflammation such as fever, fatigue, or weight loss.
  • If there are signs of vasculitis such as kidney problems, sinus issues, or lung involvement.
  • If autoimmune small-vessel disease is suspected.
  • If a healthcare provider is evaluating unexplained multi-organ symptoms.
  • No fasting is required.
  • No special preparation is usually needed.
  • Inform your healthcare provider about immunosuppressive medications.
  • Follow any instructions provided by the laboratory or healthcare provider.
